About

Welcome, I’m Ricardo. I enjoy coding, working with great people, and exploring the world through photography and travel.
My journey here has been a winding one. I immigrated to the U.S. in 1996, starting on a factory assembly line before finding my way into tech. I've been a network administrator, a web designer, and now, a software developer, and each step has taught me something new.
One of my greatest joys is helping people find their own opportunities. That's why I founded the Co-Founders Meetup in Austin, TX—to connect talented people with companies and co-founders who need them.
For me, this blog is a space to explore the things I'm passionate about. I started it back in 2010, and it's where I share my thoughts on not just software development, but also life, philosophy, and the lessons I'm learning along the way. My YouTube channel is another outlet where I connect with those starting their careers in tech.
I believe in living in the moment. My family and I travel as much as we can, often without a set schedule, leaving room for improvisation. I’m inspired by Alan Watts, who said, "Life is a not a journey... and we are supposed to dance or sing now, while the music is playing."
